We recommend that you wash your collar or leash made of cotton rope regularly. The best way to do this is to wash it cold by hand, taking care not to rub it too much, as this causes unattractive pilling. Protected in a pillowcase or together with light-coloured towels, the leashes can also be washed in the washing machine (with reservations). Please never exceed 30°C, otherwise the ropes could easily shrink, if possible spin at no more than 800 revolutions and use mild detergent. After the washing cycle, stretch the rope once and let it dry, preferably lying down.
Alternative detergents: Soapnuts do not achieve as good washing results as, for example, liquid detergents produced by yourself. We continue to test and will add to our experience here.
All products made of this leather leave our studio oiled and waxed, so that they can quickly and carefree accompany your everyday life. Although your pet's skin will ensure that it is sufficiently greased during wear, we recommend that you clean and, above all, re-grow the products from us, especially if they come into contact with moisture or dirt. This is the only way the leather can remain durable and robust.
For this purpose it is usually sufficient to simply use a damp sponge or soft cloth to remove the coarsest dirt. A little saddle soap on the damp sponge achieves a faster result. Let the collar dry completely before you grease or oil it.
We recommend to keep your eyes open and to use a Care product based on natural ingredients, such as beeswax. Mineral components in care products are very common as they are cheaper, but it is also worthwhile to pay attention to the ingredients of the leather care products.
Products made of this leather do not require any greasing or oiling. As your pet's skin provides sufficient oiling during wear, we recommend that you clean the products regularly, especially if they come into contact with vegetation and wetness. This is the only way the leather can remain durable and robust.
